Wounded Game Tracking Class
If you have ever been unable to locate a wounded deer you were tracking on your own, then you can certainly appreciate the value of using a trained dog to locate the deer. But how does one train a dog to track wounded game? We teach you how and much more in the Wounded Game Tracking Class. Once you and your dog know how to track game you can recover your deer or bear and experience no loss of meat or antlers.
Over the course of six weekly classes we will be working the dogs through various real-life training scenarios. We will also cover:
Training supplies will be provided for you to practice with your dog in between classes. Upon completion of the class, students will also be provided with the opportunity to take the UBT-1 certification test (at your cost) if desired.
The class is taught by Certified Professional Dog Trainer and United Blood Trackers (UBT) Member Trudy Garvey. All dogs of any breed, age, or size welcome! (Note: Human-aggressive dogs will not be accepted as students will be following behind to observe every dog's trail.)
This Specialty Class is limited to three dogs so that each dog/handler has the weekly opportunity to run tracks and receive the feedback to become a better tracking team.

Please Note: All dogs are required to be up to date with Distemper and Rabies vaccinations.

- How to set up training trails
- Reading your dog on while on track
- Various environmental situations that may be encountered
- Signs at the hit site to watch for
- Laws governing the use of dogs in tracking wounded game in PA
